Shigeki is a contemporary artist who, to date, has made more than forty intaglio prints of flowers and (or) birds. Like many intaglio printmakers he drew both the shape and surface details of his flower and bird subjects very accurately but usually colored them only in shades of gray. Consequently, the most conspicuous feature of these prints is their large white border. Close inspection is required to fully appreciate the fine details of the picture portion of a print.
